The San Diego Chapter of AEP is committed to supporting students preparing for careers in the environmental field. The Student Chapter offers student-specific programs, awards annual scholarships, encourages internship placement, and hosts networking events for local undergraduate and graduate students. The goal of the Student Chapter is to create and provide a better network between students and the environmental professional community.

SAN DIEGO CHAPTER SCHOLARSHIPS

The Association of Environmental Professionals is now accepting 2017 AEP Student Scholarship Applications!!!

The San Diego Chapter of AEP supports students who are actively engaged in the pursuit of a career in a field with an environmental emphasis. As part of our support efforts, we are offering scholarships to undergraduate or graduate students.

The monetary award will be up to $2,000 per scholarship recipient. Scholarship recipient(s) will also receive a complimentary one-year student membership to AEP, which includes all the benefits of professional membership, including the monthly professional newsletter, notification of networking events, reduced rates for Chapter luncheons, and reduced rates for the State Annual Conference and bi-annual CEQA workshops.

Scholarship(s) are awarded at the San Diego Chapter Annual Awards and Scholarship Benefit held in Fall 2017.

ANNUAL STUDENT OPPORTUNITIES

Each year, the San Diego AEP Chapter engages in several programs designed to prepare local university students for working in the environmental field. Student Chapter events are posted on the Student Chapter Facebook page as well as the  Programs and Events page

  • Fall: Student CEQA Workshop, and Professionalism Workshop
  • Winter: Resume Workshop 
  • Spring: Speed Networking Event,CEQA Practicum Course, CEQA Advance Workshop Course
  • Summer: Annual Scholarship

 INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITIES

The San Diego Chapter of AEP supports students who are preparing to pursue careers in the environmental field. We provide an active employment assistance program which functions as an intermediary between the students and the environmental business community at large. While AEP does not guarantee employment, every possible effort is made to assist students in pursuing work experience in the diverse environmental profession. The San Diego Chapter of AEP will accept and post internship opportunities for undergraduates and/or graduate students who are actively engaged in the pursuit of a career in a field with an environmental emphasis.
